Hello, I’m Colleen, a Founder of Fresh Insight Counseling.

I work with adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life changes, relationship concerns, chronic health conditions, or concerns related to alcohol or substance use. I have a particular interest in working with women at different stages of life.

My experience in primary care has shaped how I understand the connection between emotional and physical health.

Counseling gives us a place to look at what you’ve been through, what’s happening now, and how it may be affecting you. My work includes Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Counseling is a conversation, but it is also work. We make connections and work through what needs attention.

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from North Carolina Central University, where I also completed graduate training in addiction counseling. I also earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from Regent University, a Christian university. My studies in writing have shaped how I listen and how I think about people’s experiences.
